This is a great addition to the Sunbeam Heritage Mixmaster mixer, which comes with only a large bowl but has an adjustable lever to fit a large and a small bowl. This is the small bowl. It is a non-locking bowl so you just put it on the turntable. Construction is good and I think you will find it very handy for whipping egg whites, mixing a small amount of material, etc. If you have the Sunbeam Heritage Mixmaster models FPSBSM2101, FPSBSM2102, FPSBSM2103, FPSBSM2104, FPSBSM210T, FPSBSM210B, FPSBSM210G, FPSBSM210P, FPSTSM5101, FPSTSM5102 this is the bowl to buy. Note: This bowl does not fit other Sunbeam Mixmaster models and other bowls will not fit this model.

I owned a Sunbeam Mixmaster for almost 40 years and was heartbroken when the motor dwindled to a single speed. I replaced it with a Kitchen Aid professional mixer that cost over $300 and was disappointed with continued poor results. I finally broke down and purchased the Sunbeam and all my cakes, cookies and whipped potatoes are the absolutely best! The mixer does the job. My prior Sunbeam had a stainless steel base that was heavier and more durable compared to the plastic base on this one but that is just a sign of the times. I love, love, love my Sunbeam!

I have a Kitchen Aid already. I got this because we had one when I was a kid and this was kind of nostalgic. There has been no significant change in the design of the Sunbeam since I was a kid, at least as far as I can remember. I don't remember the head locking either up or down, but maybe it did, I don't know. More on that later... I think you are already familiar with the mechanics of how the Kitchen Aid mixes things (the planetary motion) vs how the Sunbeam mixes things (a hand mixer on a stand) so I won't go into detail on that, other than to express my preferences between the two.

Quickly Converts to a Handheld Mixer

Remove the handheld mixer from the stand by simply turning off the power, tilting the cradle back, and holding the mixer while pressing the head-release button on the bottom of the cradle. The handheld mixer--with the included chrome beaters clicked into place--makes easy work of mixing lighter ingredients like cake mix or pancake batter. The handheld mixer also provides a flat backside that serves as a steady heal rest for setting it down on the counter in between mixing sessions.


To re-attach the mixer to the stand, insert the handheld mixer's front into the two slots on the cradle and push the back of the mixer until it snaps into place.
